Emergency Outdoor First Aid
Emergency Outdoor First Aid (One Day 6 -8 hours)
This course is the same as
the above with the same basic content, where it differs is in the emphasis
placed on the outdoor situations where the incident is more likely to occur.
This means this is the ideal short course for those working or pursuing outdoor
hobbies, walking, horse-riding, golf etc or those working in outdoor locations a
short way from a central office or base, but where help is however likely to be
available by shouting, telephone or radio, such as garden centres, leisure
parks, farms etc.
The various complications that occur in the outdoors are considered in the practice sessions, taking account of the influence of the terrain and the weather. These two things can make a significant difference to our care of injured or ill people in a first aid situation. This course is also delivered in 6 - 8 hours.
The course content includes:
Dealing with incidents safely
A systematic approach to incident management
Collapse - causes and treatment
External and internal bleeding
Resuscitation procedures
Choking
Specific site issues, weather and terrain
